Have you ever tried to hide something from your siblings, friends, spouse or your parents? Well, God has his own way to hide his secret which He has also given us a way to find.
The next day the news that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem swept through the massive crowd gathered for the feast. So they took palm branches and went out to meet him. Everyone was shouting, “Lord, be our Savior! Blessed is the one who comes to us sent from Jehovah-God, the King of Israel!”
Then Jesus found a young donkey and rode on it to fulfill what was prophesied: “People of Zion, have no fear! Look—it’s your king coming to you riding on a young donkey!”
Now Jesus’ disciples didn’t fully understand the importance of what was taking place, but after he was raised and exalted into glory, they understood how Jesus fulfilled all the prophecies in the Scriptures that were written about him. -John 12:12-16 (TPT)
The disciples did not fully understand what was taking place at that time not because they were not intelligent enough but because their earthly minds had no space for greater realities yet.
God only reveals certain things to us according to our present capacity to understand them. There are so many things, principles, and truths in the Kingdom that our finite minds cannot grasp for now. So, in His mercy and love, He hides them from us. He does so not to hide them FROM us but to hide them FOR us to DISCOVER!
God conceals the revelation of his word
in the hiding place of his glory.
But the honor of kings is revealed
by how they thoroughly search out
the deeper meaning of all that God says. -Proverbs 25:2 (TPT)
Each time we find a treasure, we give God glory and in return, He imparts that glory to us.
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter;
to search out a matter is the glory of kings. -Proverbs 25:2 (NIV)
Our maturity plays a big role in discovering these gems. He would only entrust to us heavenly treasures in proportion to our maturity level.
God withholds some things from us not in stinginess but for our own protection. There are things that, if He gives right now, will destroy us.
When an expert of the law approached Jesus to ask what it would take to have eternal life, He did not give the man more revelations.
On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
“What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
“You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.” -Luke 10:24-28 (NIV)
Remember that heavenly revelations to an unrenewed mind will only add weight to it as a burden. So, out of His mercy, instead of adding more burden to the man, He pointed him back to what he already knew.
