Nowadays, we live by the norms of society and so we are being dictated as to how we should live. As we begin parenting, one of our fears was failing to be intentional parents. The biggest factor which affects our parenting style is the media. We are being affected by trends and scoops of what is acceptable by many. That is why the joy of parenting is greatly affected.
Most of the time we idolize the many families who have greater influence. The number 1 family who has a big influence nowadays is the “Team Kramer”. The team Kramer emerge from social media because both of them came from the showbiz and sports industry.
Another family that has thought us a lot in parenting is the Edric and Joy Tan-Chi Mendoza. This family has been instrumental in taking my faith to the next level. Edric was the one who officiated our wedding back in 2016. You can learn a lot of their foster experiences in a parenting on their blog teach with joy
In fear of being hooked by this comparison, we deliberately find our ways to unpack the reality of how we should parent our kids without being affected by social media. In family planning and parenting we also sought help from our mentors. We are part of the growing community of discipleship. This family has helped us a lot of who we are right now.
Develop Family Values
We have developed the following Family Values & principles as we try our best to focus on raising our own family.
Always Forgive – keeping grudges only adds wrinkles, it never gives peace and harmony. Our guiding words from the bible is “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32
Always show Grace towards others – Grace isn’t a free pass that allows us to throw off all restraint under the guise of Christ. Grace, the unmerited favor of God poured out on us by our faith in Christ, is a compelling change agent that, when received, teaches us how to live. says Kristine Hoover
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. “ 2 Peter 3:18
Always look for ways to serve others in need – serving one another as an arduous duty driven by guilt, fear, or manipulation. says Eric Watkins
“ Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2
Never give up – is training like an athlete, you keep on attaining your level until you are finished.
“ And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
